Serving PreK through 5th Grades

Elementary school academics

We are committed to helping students grow academically, spiritually, and socially. Our academic program provides a solid educational foundation in core subjects – math, reading, language arts, science, and history – along with various enrichment opportunities throughout the elementary grades – music, computers, physical education, and art.

With small class sizes, our teachers get to know their students and use a wide range of instructional methods to meet their individual learning needs.

Elementary students are nurtured spiritually in daily Bible classes, weekly chapels, and a Biblical worldview that permeates every subject and lesson. Students have regular opportunities to live out what they’re learning – loving and serving others through local and global mission projects.

Our students learn in a safe and nurturing environment, where caring teachers desire to see students grow as individuals according to God’s design. Expectations are set, and behaviour is managed based on God’s word to help students develop Christ-like character.

Keys to an SCA elementary education experience

We operate a grace-filled learning environment that is joyful, encouraging, and effective. We aim that every student feels safe, loved and recognized.

Biblical Saturation

We uniquely integrate the Bible into everything we do. We call it biblical saturation. In every subject, not just chapel, we fill our lessons with interesting connections to the Bible and the biblical narrative.

We teach kids the skills they need to help them understand how they learn and to advocate for themselves. This skill becomes a bedrock foundation for future grades and advancement.

Student Support

We work with every student at every level  helping them take risks in a place of safety and risks are honored. Our Instructional Support Center (ISC) extends help when needed.

Head and Heart

At the head level, we encourage curiosity and exploration and then to learn to assimilate facts and  read for understanding. At the heart level, we teach them to know Jesus and care for others, beyond a rules mentality.

A Dynamic Learning Environment

At SCA, we are constantly developing a unique learning environment for every student. Learn about seven keys to our curricular and programmatic approach.
