Students at all levels are encouraged to volunteer and participate in service projects for our local community, school families in need, as well as opportunities to help around campus.
As a requirement, high school students must log from 5 to 20 hours per semester relating to community service.

Jesus said that the greatest among you is servant of all. We believe student disciples grow through the experience of serving others. Students, faculty, and staff richly experience the joy of serving others in practical ways.
Each student is required to perform a minimum of five hours of service for the community in grade nine, ten hours in grade ten, fifteen hours in grade eleven, and twenty hours in grade twelve.
Sound Christian Academy, formerly Tacoma Baptist Schools, was established in 1960 and has been providing quality, affordable, biblically based K-12 education in a grace-filled, Christian environment in south Tacoma, WA for over 60 years.
