Arbogast wins statewide athletics award

SCA junior Emy Arbogast was named the WIAA Track and Field Athlete of the Week last week.

Arbogast was second in the 100-meter hurdles, fifth in the triple jump, fifth in the high jump and sixth in the 300 hurdles at the Class 1B district meet at Franklin Pierce High School.

She qualified for the state meet in all four events and cleared a personal best mark of 4 feet, 6 inches in the high jump.

Each award winner receives a letter of recognition from the WIAA Executive Director, a certificate of achievement and a $25 DICK’S Sporting Goods gift card courtesy of Gesa Credit Union.

Arbogast is the first Sound Christian athlete to win this award since last year when Addy Norman earned the honor for volleyball.
