Spiritual Life & Chapel

Our Mission is to Develop Disciples

Pursuing our mission of developing disciples and leaders

We seek to create an environment for growth — one of biblical saturation, worship, truth, prayer, service, and relationship — from elementary school through high school. That environment includes every dimension of student and community life, such as academics, athletics, extra-curricular activities, social experiences, and more.

In terms of the spiritual development of each individual student, we aim for the integrated self. Faith and practice are not separate topics. Knowledge alone won’t cut it. Christian living is a reflection of truth where our behavior is in line with our beliefs. We seek to foster that faith in each student through impacting experiences and significant relationships.

The core of the process depends on God’s grace for spiritual formation, defined as: “our continuing response to the reality of God’s grace shaping us into the likeness of Jesus Christ, through the work of the Holy Spirit, in the community of faith, for the glory of God and the sake of the world.”1

Students need to experience God for themselves and be discipled for there to be lasting fruit.

We keep long-term growth in mind, and we are grateful when we see fruit. As Matt Richey, Associate Dean of Spiritual Life, shared, “I am astounded when I see God at work in our students whether it’s a prayer group they initiate, an insight they share, an act of courage in faith, or a creation they make.”

Our weekly chapel at all grade levels

Students participate in a weekly chapel service at all grade levels. As an anchor for the week’s activities, the chapel focuses on student-led worship, themed activities that are fun, exploring and reinforcing the yearly school theme or series themes, guest speakers, prayer, missions, and personal growth.

Spiritual Life and Formation: Our Integrated Program
from Elementary through High School

Our passion is that students would make the Christian faith their own, so that throughout their school experience, they discover God and grow in a relationship with Jesus Christ.
